Electroneurography abnormality in Parkinson’s disease: a potential biomarker to help diagnosis

چکیده
Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disease, pathologically characterized by the progressive degeneration of dopaminergic neurons in substantia nigra. Although various biomarkers and imaging criteria for PD have been established, objective reliable evaluation methods are still lacking. Electroneurography, as an measurement evoked compound muscle action potentials, used to assess integrity peripheral nerve important diagnosis differential with neuromuscular injury. Moreover, it provides references quantification motor function PD. Here, we summarize recent advances clinical research electroneurography PD, including conduction velocity, needle electromyography, surface motion unit number estimation. The potential values also involved.

Manual Therapy Choices: A General Approach to Parkinsons Disease
In treating dysfunction, it is normal for most therapists to use a variety of modalities and methods including myofascial release, muscle-energy techniques, positional-release techniques and many more. The assumption must be that different tools achieve different effects, and the ones we choose reflect our perception as to the needs of the individual and/or of the tissues involved. Sledgehammer...
متن کاملRole of microRNA as a biomarker in Alzheimer’s disease
Introduction: MicroRNAs are small, non-coding, and protected RNA molecules that regulate gene expression after transcription by mRNA degradation or inhibition of protein synthesis. The function of these molecules is critical to many cellular processes, including growth, development, differentiation, homeostasis, apoptosis, aging, stress resistance. In addition, some diseases including cancer, a...
متن کاملA Case Study of Parkinsons Disease Diagnosis using Artificial Neural Networks
Artificial Neural Network (ANN)-based diagnosis of medical diseases has been taken into great consideration in recent years. In this paper, two types of ANNs are used to classify effective diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) with back-propagation learning algorithm and Radial Basis Function (RBF) ANNs were used to differentiate between clinical variables of sampl...
متن کاملA case of dermatitis artefacta: Clues which help early diagnosis
A 26-year-old married female presented with a complaint of recurrent multiple ulcerative lesions on her body. After complete history and physical examination, a diagnosis of dermatitis artefacta was made. Dermatitis artefacta remains undiagnosed for quite some time because of its atypical skin changes, diverse methods used for producing skin lesions, lack of awareness about the disorder on the ...
متن کاملAb40 Oligomers Identified as a Potential Biomarker for the Diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease
Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is the most prevalent form of dementia worldwide, yet the development of therapeutics has been hampered by the absence of suitable biomarkers to diagnose the disease in its early stages prior to the formation of amyloid plaques and the occurrence of irreversible neuronal damage. Since oligomeric Ab species have been implicated in the pathophysiology of AD, we reasoned t...
